SEBUYAU: Sixty-six non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) in the Sebuyau district, have received grants amounting to RM889,000 under the Minor Rural Projects (MRP) fund.
Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, who is also the Sebuyau assemblyman, hoped the funds would be fully utilised.
“I hope these funds will be used effectively to plan and implement activities focused on education, welfare and social development,” he said during the event held at the Sebuyau Development Hall today.
He added that various initiatives continued to be undertaken to ensure human capital development progressed in tandem with physical development in line with efforts to produce a knowledgeable and highly competitive society.
At the same event, Julaihi also presented education incentive contributions totalling RM11,500 to 45 students from the area who had successfully pursued studies at the certificate, diploma and bachelor’s degree levels.
