BINTULU: A midnight fire forced 67 residents to flee their homes when six single-storey terrace houses were engulfed in flames at Jalan Sultan Iskandar Lorong B5, Taman Bukit Orang early this morning.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the 12.26 am incident as the residents evacuated to safety.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Bintulu and Kidurong stations were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they found three houses fully engulfed in flames, while another was 70 per cent destroyed.
Two other houses sustained damage of 30 and 40 per cent, mostly affecting the ceiling and walls.

The fire also destroyed three vehicles – a Toyota Hilux, a Proton Persona, and a Perodua Axia.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 1.33 am using water sourced from their fire engines and a water tanker.
Overhaul works were carried out to ensure there was no risk of reignition.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded the operation.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
