SARIKEI: A seven-month-old baby girl and her 21-year-old parents sustained injuries following a two-vehicle collision along Jalan Pan Borneo this morning.
The accident, involving an Isuzu Dmax with three onboard and a Perodua Viva with the baby and the couple onboard, happened near Pakan junction around 7.25 am.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Sarikei station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call that a woman was reportedly trapped in the front passenger seat of the Viva car.

Upon arrival, the team promptly set about to free the victim. Once freed, she was handed over to the paramedics for initial treatment before she was taken to the hospital.
The Viva driver and his baby, who sustained injuries in the accident, were rescued out of the car by passers-by and taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The extent of the Viva driver and passengers’ injuries is not known.
Meanwhile, the Isuzu driver and passengers aged between 27 and 61, escaped injuries.
