SARATOK: A total of 75 vehicles were inspected during ‘Ops Bersepadu’ carried out by the Saratok District Police on Saturday.
District Police Chief, DSP Mathew Manggie, said two officers and 17 police personnel were deployed for the operations, setting up roadblocks and conducting patrols.
“The officers and personnel carried out their duties along the Pan Borneo Highway, around Saratok town and at Jalan Roban Lama.
“The operation commenced at 10 am and ended at 2 pm. The purpose was to minimise the rate of road accidents, especially involving motorcycles and to improve road safety awareness among road users,” he said.
During the operations, police issued a total of 78 summonses while one motorcycle was seized for modifications that did not comply with required specifications.
“Overall, the operations were a success and no untoward incidents occurred,” he added.
