MUKAH: A total of 93 people participated in a Pre-Marriage Course organised by the Department of Commerce through its Training and Continuing Education Unit (ULPL), in collaboration with the Islamic Religious Department of Sarawak (JAIS) Mukah Branch, recently.
The two-day course was held at the Main Lecture Hall of Mukah Polytechnic (PMU).
According to programme director, Ahmad Nabil Mohamad, this programme was held to fulfil the mandatory requirement before marriage.
“In addition, it also helps future brides and grooms understand their responsibilities, rights and roles as husband and wife from religious, legal and local cultural perspectives.
“Participants are also guided in communication skills, conflict management, as well as values of love and cooperation in building a harmonious and prosperous family,” he said in a statement.
The course was not only attended by residents from around Mukah, but also from Bintulu, Sibu, Matu and Betong.
Meanwhile, a representative from JAIS Mukah Branch, Noorfariza Ahli, stated that the collaboration between her department and PMU should be continued in the future following the success of this programme.
