94 students graduate at IKMAS 21st Convocation

KUCHING: The Institut Kemahiran Islam Malaysia Sarawak (IKMAS) marked another milestone with the graduation of 94 students at its 21st Convocation Ceremony, held today at the Sarawak Islamic Complex Hall.

The ceremony was officiated by Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, who was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Also present were the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar; the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi; the Director-General of JAKIM, Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee; the President of the Sarawak Islamic Council, Datuk Misnu Taha; the Sarawak State Mufti, Datuk Kipli Yassin; together with other distinguished guests.

Of the graduating cohort, 65 students received Diplomas in Islamic Propagation (Dakwah Islamiah), six were awarded Diplomas in Quranic Memorisation and Qiraat (Tahfiz al-Quran dan al-Qiraat), and 23 obtained Certificates in Islamic Studies.

Outstanding graduates were also recognised with special honours, including the IKMAS Award, the Sarawak Islamic Council Award, the Director-General of JAKIM Award, and the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Award.

The convocation once again underscored IKMAS’ commitment to producing skilled graduates grounded in Islamic knowledge, in line with efforts to strengthen human capital development in Sarawak.
