SERIAN: A flood relief centre was opened to house nine individuals from two families from Kampung Melayu, Balai Ringin at 12pm yesterday.
The flood victims were relocated to the Kampung Melayu Balai Ringin Multi-purpose Hall.
State Disaster Management Committee secretariat chief Major Ismail Mahedi said the recent heavy downpour in the Balai Ringin caused the nearby river to overflow into the low-lying areas.
“The nine individuals comprising four adult (two males, two females), four children (two boys, two girls) and a senior citizen,” he said in a statement.
