KUCHING: The fourth floor of Telekom Malaysia (TM) building along Jalan Were here was destroyed in a fire yesterday.
State Bomba chief Nor Hisham Mohammad said 38 personnel from Batu Lintang, Kuching and Petra Jaya fire stations were rushed to the scene following a distress call which was received at 6.42pm.
He said despite the highly visible blaze, no injuries and casualties were reported.
Nor Hisham said only a store located on the fourth floor of the building was in flames and firefighters managed to stop the fire from spreading to the third floor.
He noted that the fire was brought under control at 8.05pm. The cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained as at press time.
