KUCHING: Holders of important posts in government must carry out
the duties responsibly, professionally, fairly and equitably.

Abdullah said this when asked to comment on the resignation of Malaysian
Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefa Koya.
“Anyone who holds
such an important position needs to be more professional in performing their
duties.
“We do not want see
a selective and biased prosecution, it has to be fair because they need to be
professional, this is what we want,” she said while refusing to comment on
Latheefa’s performances as MACC chief commissioner.
Yesterday, Latheefa
confirmed her resignation as the MACC chief. She said her resignation was based
on her own decision and denied speculation that she was under pressure to
resign from her post.
It was also reported
that MACC deputy chief commissioner (Operation) Datuk Seri Azam Baki will take
over as acting chief commissioner.
