KUCHING: The prayer services at the respective Hindu temples in the city here will go on as usual.

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple president Shankar Ram said so far, there was no directive for the prayer services or other activities at the temple and other five Hindu temples to be temporarily suspended due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

“The prayer services are normally held on Friday and they will continue,” he told New Sarawak Tribune when contacted.

He said the situation would be monitored and if there was a need to suspend the prayer services, a directive would probably be issued soon.

“However, we urged the temple members to practise good personal hygiene and to see the doctor immediately if they feel unwell,” he said.
