BINTULU: Samalaju assemblyman, Majang Renggi officiated at a school uniforms aid vouchers presentation ceremony at SK Tanjung Batu yesterday.
He also urged parents through their Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) to work closely and support the school, especially in academic activities so that their children will have a better and brighter future.
Calling on the various corporate and multi-national companies and private sector around Tg Kidurong and Samalaju areas for their support in educational activities especially to rural schools through the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) or adopt any rural school in building a better and conducive facilities for the schools.
Meanwhile, a total of 102 students from 16 primary and secondary schools in Samalaju and Tanjung Batu constituencies received uniform vouchers at the function.
Later, Majang accompanied by headmaster and officials visited the site of an extension of new building (washroom) to the multipurpose hall of SK Tanjung Batu and disclosed that the construction is expected to start soon.
Among those present were Bintulu Deputy Resident, Hamdiah Bakir, Sarawak Foundation Director represented by Ratnasari Mansor, Political Secretary to Chief Minister, Edwin Banta, Bintulu District Officer, Mataip Sayu, Deputy Bintulu District Education Officer, Yusuf Arbi, SK Tanjung Batu headmaster Togang Sedin, heads of departments, community leaders and PTAs.
The voucher recipients were from SMK Bandar Bintulu, SMK Kidurong, SMK Bintulu, SMK Asyakirin, SK Tanjung Batu, SK St Anthony, SK Sungai Tisang, SK Sungai Kem Batu 18, SK Kuala Nyalau, SK Kidurong, SK Kidurong II, SK Kpg Nyalau, SK Asyakirin, SJK(C) Siong Boon, SJK(C ) Sebiew Chinese and SJK (C) Chung Hua Bintulu.
