KUCHING: A number of equipment was destroyed in a fire that broke out in a storeroom at Sekolah Kebangsaan St Paul, Jalan Roban in Saratok around 5.30pm last Friday.
Saratok Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was alerted on the incident at 5.34pm and dispatched 10 personnel in a fire engine, EMRS vehicle and four-wheel-drive vehicle to the scene.
On their arrival 16 minutes later, the flames had engulfed the walls and ceiling of the storeroom, which is located outside the school building.
The firefighters managed to control the situation within several minutes and wrapped up their operation at 6.20pm.
No injuries were reported and the storeroom was totally destroyed.
The cause of the fire and estimated loss were being investigated.
