MUKAH: Most students here are eager to return to school when classes resume today (June 15) after almost four months staying at home due to the movement control order (MCO) enforced since March 18.
Form 3 student, Scholastica Lenny, and her friends, Veronica (Form 2), Fellissica Wendy (Form 4) and Raynold Gabriel (Form 1), all studying at SMK Three Rivers here, are among those eagerly waiting to continue their studies.
All of them are boarders (staying in hostels) and come from separate longhouses in Setuan Besar, Balingian, about an hour’s drive from here.
Their family members sent them to school early yesterday using their own transport.
All of them were in a happy mood when New Sarawak Tribune approached them while they were waiting for registration at the school compound.
“We want to see our friends, our classmates after staying at home for quite a long time.
“We want to continue our studies and finish our homework too,” they said.
They added that they were ready to resume classes although not sure about the actual situation, in line with the standard operating procedure (SOP) being put in place at the school.
On the threat of the Covid-19 pandemic, they said: “Life is as usual but we have to follow SOP also for the benefit of all.”
