KUCHING: The women in Batang Lupar have been urged to seize opportunities provided by the government to boost the socio-economic status of their families.
Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim, who is also the Member of Parliament for Batang Lupar, said the economic opportunities would be further improved to ensure that the community in Batang Lupar would not be left behind in the plans of the state and federal government.
“The government wants to plan the best initiative to help build the economy of the women here to increase their income and skills.
“As such, we will meet up with the residents here again to obtain a more detailed feedback,” she said when met during a ‘korban’ event and the distribution of korban meat to the poor and single mothers at Masjid Darul Aman, Sebangan yesterday.
