

KUCHING: Director of Tabung Haji Sarawak, Hajah Zaiton Mohd Yusoff presented a contribution of RM1,500 to the wife of a deceased Haj pilgrim at Kampung Tabuan Melayu here, yesterday.
The contribution was received by the late Haji Majidi Bin Sarbini wife’s, Hajah Salihah Binti Norawi in the presence of their three children.
“The Haji Majidi passed away a day before heading to Harafah on 30 August and Tabung Haji conducted the Badal Haji (representative) for the late Haji Majidi to complete the Haj process,” said Zaiton.
The late Haji Majidi was buried in Syara’ie Cemetery, a place for Muslims who died in Makkah while the funeral was held at Masjidil Haram.
“Four Sarawak Haj pilgrims died in Makkah and all of them are men. The late Haji Majidi died of lung infection.
“Our Takaful aid allocates RM3,000 for such matter with half of the amount used for funeral expenses in Makkah while the balance of RM1,500 is given the next-of-kin like today,” she explained.
Besides, Tabung Haji also handed dates and “Zam-Zam” water to the family of the late Haji Majidi.
