MIRI: Over 60 volunteers from the Paint the World (PTW) youth movement and Technology College Sarawak (TCS) students helped to clean a popular picnic site at the  Lutong beach here last weekend.

The programme, Paint the World Miri Eco BeachFest 2020, was hosted by PTW and supported by the Sarawak Youth and Sports Ministry.

A statement on Monday (Oct 7) said the initiative was part of efforts to increase public awareness on the impact of littering on the environment.

It added that five virtual workshop sessions were conducted during the programme.

“Through the virtual workshops, we hope we can educate the public about the importance of our environment and inculcate good hygiene practice, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
