MUKAH: The Tellian constituency service centre contributed 321 food baskets to 531 people from 15 longhouses in Ulu Baoh, Dalat near here who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic after a number of positive cases were reported in one of the longhouses.
The service centre’s special officer Felix Pieng said Mukah Division Welfare Department would assist in distributing the aid to the villagers.
He said this at a simple handover of contribution (to the department) ceremony at the New Mukah Administrative Centre here today.
Felix, who represented Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo, handed over the contribution to Shahrill Eddyson, who represented the department’s divisional officer Haslinda Supu.
Some of the longhouses are within the perimeter of police roadblocks, following a lockdown enforced to halt the spread of Covid-19.
