KUCH ING : Following the last sexual assault case where an eleven-yearold Bintulu girl was victimised by her biological father, uncle and grandfather and quite a number of other cases that were highlighted in the media lately, SUPP Central Women chief Kho Teck Wan expressed deep concern and called on the relevant authorities to take the strongest form of punishment against these perpetrators who have committed such abhorrent crime.

“I won’t oppose castration as punishment so the perpetrator will not be able to harm anyone else. And anyone who intends to commit such crime will think twice about it,” said Kho.

Kho reminded everyone that sexual assault and rape could occur at any time, in many places and to anyone. “It is a crime, a violent attack on human rights and it is never the fault of the victim.

SUPP Central Women Section understands the need for victims to have someone reliable they can depend on to facilitate crucial help at such a time.

“Going forward SUPP Central Women Section will discuss setting up a unit to provide aid to persons affected by any form of assault as no one should suffer in silence,” added Kho.
