KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg received a courtesy call by a delegation from Sarawak Islamic Council (MAIS) led by its president, Datu Misnu Taha in the chief minister’s office here, yesterday.

The courtesy call was made to introduce the Acting Director of Sarawak Islamic Department (JAIS), Ustaz Khalidi Ibrahim.

During the visit, the Chief Minister also presented offer letter to each of the 100 Sarawak candidates for the Haj pilgrimage 2018 under the Prime Minister’s Special Haj Programme  2018 which is under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak himself since 2011.

For this year, Imam Besar Negeri Sarawak Ustaz Mostapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi has been appointed as chief of the Haj pilgrims.

Also present were Assistant Minister for Rural Electricity, Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Sarawak State Mufti, Datu Kipli Yassin.
