KAPIT: An 11-year-old pupil of SK Nanga Stapang identified as Alenjendro Manuel Anak Abal of Rumah Said, Nanga Puro drowned while bathing in Sungai Gaat, Baleh in Bukit Mabong District near here with his friends around 4.30pm last Sunday.
After the longhouse folks were informed of the incident they immediately launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation to locate the missing boy.
He was later found around 6.30 pm some 30 metres down river from where he disappeared in the fast flowing river.
The body was later taken to the mortuary of Kapit Hospital for a post mortem.
