Iron Hardcore an iconic club to youths

KOTA SAMARAHAN: Muara Tuang Assemblyman, Dato’ Idris Buang was appointed as the patron of Iron Hardcore Bodybuilding Club, here.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Iron Hardcore Bodybuilding Club Samarahan, at the Civic Centre, Kota Samarahan on Monday, Idris  announced a grant of Minor Rural Project (MRP) of RM10,000 to the club for their activities as the beginning.

Idris said as the people’s representative in the area he will always give support and encouragement to the club to organise their activities.

“With the involvement of bodybuilders both local and overseas in this club, I have high confidence that this club can become an icon to the young people,” he said.

He said that most members of the club have achieved the highest level of success in the sport.

Among the big names that have been successful at the state or national level in bodybuilding sports are namely, Buda Anchah and Melverrn Abdullah (Mr World), Nolan Chee, George Awi ak William (Mr International), Wilfred Harding, Joseph Ladi, Donny Dam (Mr Malaysia), Louis Glass, Edisin Eddie Dison, Mohamad Kamarudin Mustafa, Huang Chee Yan (Mr Sarawak) and Siti Hajjar Awang Hitam (Mr International).

Earlier, the club chairman, Mohd Zulkarnain Abdullah said Iron Hardcore Bodybuilding Club was established in November 16 last year and presently has about 40 members.

“The club was founded to help develop their members to face any bodybuilding competitions.

“It is our hope that this club can help nurture bodybuilders to reach greater heights in this sport,” he said.
