KUCHING:  Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Development and Transportation,  Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, officially launched the first digitised platform for  Sarawak Lorries Transport Association (SLTA) at RH Park, 9 ½ Mile, Kuching-Serian Road here on Tuesday night.

The  aims of the platform are to provide free websites to all corporates under the SLTA,  enable  potential visitors  to access all logistical information online, enable all lorry companies to have effective communication with SLTA or their members    and  provide an e-marketplace  for STLA members to access   products/services offered by  public  companies  at  discounted rates.

The SLTA digitised platform was developed by SOCOE  (Social Community Technology), a revolutionary digital platform of the 21st century.

In his speech, Masing  thanked SOCOE for providing the platform to SLTA.

Masing also hoped that other business communities  in Sarawak would use the platform.

“We have to move on, business changes everyday and if we don’t change, we will be left behind. That  is why it is very important that the  Lorry Transport Association is involved in this,” he added.

Managing Director of SOCOE, JW Sam said the digitalisation  of SLTA was made possible  with  the cooperation of the chairman of Sarawak Lorry Transport Association, Phua Pui Ann.

“We hope this collaboration will bring business prosperity as well as many benefits to SLTA members,” he said.

JW Sam disclosed that  SLTA had 475 member companies  and about 200 were already on the website.

“One month ago, we signed the MoA with SLTA to create this.  I think within a week or two weeks, all the  475 companies will be on board.

“We have our team of ambassadors  called the Sarawak Digital Ambassadors  and they go out to educate and assist all these businesses to park their business onto the platform,” he explained.
