Seven-day remand for two over house break-in

MIRI: Police on Wednesday morning arrested two local men who were believed to be involved in a break-in of a beauty shop at Marina Square here early this month.

The two suspects, one in his late 30s and the other in his early 50s were apprehended by the police following on a public tip-off on their whereabouts.

In the break-in incident, which reportedly happened on 6 June, items stolen from the shop were estimated at around RM7,000.

The two were produced in the Miri Sessions Court yesterday and are being remanded for seven days since yesterday to facilitate police investigation into the case.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house break-in.
