KUCHING: Dr Kelvin Yii hopes that through his constituency allocations, he will do his best to ensure that the needs of schools are met so that students can learn in a good environment.
The Democratic Action Party (DAP) candidate for Bandar Kuching said this in a press statement issued today after paying a courtesy visit to SJK(c) Bintawa to hand over a total of RM118,080 to the school, which will be used to upgrade the school’s facilities and provide a more comfortable and safer environment for students and teachers.
He noted that the grants will be used to upgrade four projects, including the improvement plans for parking lots, working paths, and waiting areas, the installation of railings alongside a large drain, the installation of security cameras, and the construction of a mobile stage in the school auditorium.
“These allocations were approved prior to the dissolution of Parliament and were recently released.
“In addition to these allocations, my office assisted to upgrade the special education class (PPKI) classrooms, music rooms, and teachers’ offices prior to this,” he explained.
He stated that the upgraded music room provides a beautiful area for special needs children to dance and have fun.
