SIBU: Thirty-six students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bukit Assek received education incentives for their outstanding performances in the recent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
They received the incentives from Bukit Assek assemblyman Joseph Chieng Jin Ek during a presentation ceremony at the school hall here, yesterday (June 27).
The students who are residents in the Bukit Assek area, had all scored 5As and above in the examination.
“In addition to sharing the joy with the students, the incentives serve as recognition of the students’ hard work and dedication,” Chieng said during the presentation ceremony.
He highlighted that the success of these exceptional students extended beyond personal achievements, as it brought pride not only to their families but also to the community.
“You are the hope for the future of this country, and I am extremely proud to witness the talent and abilities that you have demonstrated.
“I hope that all of you will continue to strive diligently and seize the opportunities available to pursue higher education,” he said.
Chieng stressed that the achievements attained by the students should serve as a starting point for them to strive for even greater accomplishments in life.
He hoped that the students would maintain their unwavering determination, uphold strong moral values and strive for academic excellence.
Chieng also expressed his aspiration for the success achieved by the students to inspire and motivate their peers to work diligently and reach similar levels of excellence.
Meanwhile, the principal of SMK Bukit Assek, Abdul Rahman@Nicholas, hoped that Chieng and other elected representatives would continue to support the school.
He specifically mentioned the importance of financial assistance in improving the school’s facilities and creating an optimal learning environment for the students.
