Borneo Cultures Museum draws 760,000 visitors so far

KUCHING: The Borneo Cultures Museum (BCM) has received more than 760,000 visitors since its opening last year.

Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP) Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the latest figure was recorded until July 29.

“We can see that in Sarawak, the interest towards the museum is so remarkable where since its launching on March 9 last year, it has attracted so many people,” he said during the launching of the national-level International Museum Day which was officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at BCM today.

Abdul Karim said he is happy to see that the museum has become a place of interest in Sarawak for visitors, including locals and those outside the state.

“This will indeed in a way have an impact on the museum visitors.

“Additionally, so far, I see those who visited the museum were amazed and happy with the displays in the museum,” he added.
