KUCHING: Special promotional fares for both international and domestic flights will be on offer at the 18th Sarawak Matta Travel Fair here on Oct 7-8.
“For international flights, the discount can go as high as 47 per cent, while for domestic flights, there will be a 40 per cent discount,” said Malaysian Aviation Group (MAG) manager (East Malaysia Sales), Mohammed Firdaus Mohamed Zaid on Wednesday.
“Additionally, we are excited to introduce new destinations, including flights from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia, and India.
“Furthermore, we are planning to include London and European destinations in our offerings. We will officially unveil these new routes during the Matta Fair,” he said.
The 18th Sarawak Matta Travel Fair, will be held at the Aeon Mall here. Admission is free.
Matta Sarawak Secretary Dayang Azizah said this year will feature 46 stalls from various groups of travel agencies.
“We are also pleased to announce MAG comprising Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and MASwings as the official airline for the fair.
“In just three days away, visitors will have the opportunity to buy from a wide variety of value-for-money domestic and international holiday packages from a wide range of experienced licensed tour operators and also MAG tickets through its appointed agents.
“This enables Malaysia Airlines and its sister companies, Firefly and MASwings to work closely with participating agents in providing appealing deals and promotions to visitors,” she said.
During the fair, MAG will provide flight tickets as part of the Buyers’ Contest, comprising five pairs of round-trip tickets to any MASwings destination on ATR services.
In addition to MAG, other sponsors include Hilton Hotel, Grand Margherita Hotel, Damai Beach Resort, Sematan Palm Beach Resort, Meritin Hotel, Sarawak Cultural Village and Royal Kuching Cruise.
The fair which will be attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting, is open to all from 10 am to 9 pm on both days.
