KUCHING: The Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) recently conducted a visit to the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to learn and share insights on the implementation of the Petaling Jaya Child Friendly Cities Initiative Action Plan.
In a statement posted on DBKU’s Facebook, it said MBPJ was recognised as the First Child-Friendly City in Malaysia to have implemented all child-friendly initiatives in partnership with United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The DBKU delegation was led by mayor Hilmy Othman and DBKU director Mohamed Khaidir Abang.
A briefing on the child-friendly city of Petaling Jaya was presented by Lee Lih Shyan, MBPJ director of the planning and development department.
Additionally, a presentation on accessible parks for people with disabilities was given by Alya Syaheera Amran, MBPJ assistant director (landscape).
