KUCHING: State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) director Khirudin Drahman has advised the public to cooperate with the authorities during disasters.
He said since the weather was unpredictable in Sarawak, flood relief centres throughout the state had been identified.
Khirudin was speaking to reporters after the Bomba and Commonwealth Journalists Association (CJA) Sarawak Branch Christmas party programme for D’Wira Educational Centre held at Bomba Headquarters, Jalan Setia Raja here yesterday.
He explained that the state Bomba was constantly in touch with the Meteorological Department and the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) on the weather situation.
“Any information on disasters will be relayed to the public through the Bomba,” he said.
He told public not to worry because the state disaster centre would be operating round the clock.
