KUCHING: Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi has appealed for an immediate stop to vandalism against telecommunication towers.

This comes after a complaint was filed with him on a telecommunication tower in Serabang, Saribas, which was vandalised and resulted in damage and the subsequent disruption of telecommunication services in the village.

“The responsible parties need to realise that these facilities are for the people, why steal and damage them?” he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page today.

While restoration work is underway, Julaihi said it takes time and involves significant financial losses, causing inconvenience to the public.

“I appeal to those involved to immediately stop actions that cause losses and inconvenience to the people. Cooperation from everyone is highly necessary,” he said.
