KUCHING: Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine expressed his condolences over the passing of the late former Head of State Tun Pehin Seri Taib Mahmud.
“May his soul be showered with mercy and placed among the believers. Rest in peace, Tun Taib,” he said in Facebook post.
Similarly, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in its Facebook post extended condolences to the family of the Taib who served as the former TYT from 2014 to 2024.
Taib passed away at 4.40 am in Kuala Lumpur today.
The Sarawak government has declared a period of mourning over two days beginning Feb 21.
Throughout this period, all official engagements featuring entertainment elements will be put off, and the Sarawak flag is to be lowered to half-mast as a mark of respect.
