56th Unity Cup to kick-off on April 12

KUCHING: The 56th edition of the Asajaya Assemblyman Unity Cup football tournament will be held this month.

The oldest tournament in Sarawak will start on the third day of Eid (April 12) and will end on April 21.

Sambir Bistari Football Club (KBSB) patron Datuk Abdullah Julaihi said the tournament is being organised by KBSB in collaboration with sponsor Lea Sports Center (LSC).

He said this far 48 teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament.

The winning team will receive RM5,000 in cash, trophies, medals, a set of jerseys and an Adidas sporting goods voucher worth RM1,000 sponsored by LSC.

The runner-up will receive RM3,000 in cash, trophy, medals, a set of jerseys and a RM600 voucher for Adidas brand sports goods sponsored by LSC.

The two losing teams in the semi-finals will each receive RM1,500 in cash, trophies, medals and vouchers worth RM300 for LSC-sponsored Adidas sporting goods.

In the meantime, Abdullah also announced that the club is organising the Kampung Sambir, Asajaya 2024 Invitational Veterans Football Tournament.

The tournament to be held on April 20 will involve only six teams, namely,
Sambir Bistari, V-FOSS FC, Vettam Tambirat, Tora Rebak, Kaslo Semera and Muara Tebas.

“The winning team will receive RM1,000 in cash including a trophy and medals,” he said.

The runner-up will receive RM700 in cash, a trophy and medals. And RM300 in cash, a trophy and medals awit the joint third place finishers.
