MIRI: Seventy seven students and four teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Lutong, led by the Form 6 Research Club and under the guidance of head teacher advisor Min Yen Pui, recently volunteered at the Lutong Fire Station.
The team, which included Dr. Brenda Bangi Jin, Cynthia Abus and Zamri Hermanden, engaged in various activities such as painting the ‘Go Green Corner’ and the Children’s Fire Safety Club (3K) area, as well as maintaining the machineries, organising bricks, and conducting a communal clean-up of the surrounding area’s flowers and drains.
They also learned about fire safety protocols during these activities.
In addition, the students created 10 flower pots, which added a touch of colour and life to the station.
The fire station chief Henry Jugah praised the dedication of the students and teachers.
The programme was also supported by PBK II Ramli Sahari, Alpha Team Supervisor; PBK II Mohammad Faizul Ali, Charlie Team Supervisor; and PB Stephen Saga.
