KOTA SAMARAHAN: Two local men have been reported missing after failing to return home from searching for clams at a project site along Jalan Tanjong Bako-Samarahan.
The victims, 54-year-old Kawi Entinggi and 42-year-old Adi Alet, went out to search for clams at noon yesterday (May 12) at a project site across the Kota Samarahan Industrial Training Institute.
When both of them failed to return home, their families lodged police reports for search assistance.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Kota Samarahan station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call from the police at 8.44 am this morning.
Upon arrival, the search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched together with the police and the Civil Defence Force (APM).
Both victims could not be reached as they did not bring their phones.
At the time of writing, Kawi and Aid remain unaccounted for.
