KUCHING: Political observer Datuk Peter Minos has voiced his disappointment regarding individuals who have made negative remarks against Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, saying that such behaviour reflects disrespect towards Sarawak’s top leader and its people.

He said the Premier does not deserve to be looked down and castigated as the latter had worked very hard since taking over to lead the state and bringing in good ideas and implementing them.

“All of us in Sarawak have seen and accepted that our Premier has done his very best for Sarawak.

“The good ideas he implements, to name a few, the hydrogen industry, green technology, Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART), Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Fund.

“These things do not come from mere luck but grit, planning, good strategies, determination and perseverance,” he said in a statement on Saturday (June 22).

He went on to say Sarawakians will continue to speak up in defence of the Premier and Sarawak.

“When the state was not developing, the critics looked down on us but now that it is fast developing under our Premier, they show contempt, disrespect and bad feeling.

“This is truly outrageous and uncalled for. We condemn such a bad attitude towards our Premier and Sarawak,” he said.

He added Sarawakian is not deterred but will continue to give full support to Abang Johari and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

“We will continue to be united under our Premier and GPS for we know only through political unity that development can proceed smoothly as well as harmony among the races be sustained,” said Minos.
