MIRI: More than 2,500 attendees primarily youths from across the state, gathered at Miri City Fan on Friday night for the Youth Explosion concert.
This event was part of The Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM) Sarawak Youth Service (PPP)’s Festival of Youth (FoY) celebration.
The concert, themed ‘Go Beyond’ was officially launched by Telang Usan assemblyman Datuk Dennis Ngau.
It also coincided with the upcoming International Youth Day celebration in August and is organised in partnership with Persatuan Belia Kristian Rhema (PBKR), an association registered under the Youth and Sports Ministry.
In his opening speech, Dennis urged the youth to contribute to the country and the state.
He highlighted Sarawak’s Post Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, encouraging the young audience to seize the opportunities presented by the PCDS as it progresses.
As of yesterday (July 27), the festivities continue with a Zumba session at Miri City Fan starting at 7 am and the FoY Night Concert featuring Malaysian Idol and Gegar Vaganza All Star winner Jaclyn Victor at 7 pm.
The concert was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan.
