PARIS: Parallel bars world champion Lukas Dauser of Germany has said that Monday’s Olympic final was his last international competition.

Dauser finished seventh on his best apparatus in Paris, after a recent muscular injury had hampered his performances. He won the world title last year and was elected German Sportsman of the Year.

“We saw Lukas Dauser for the last time internationally today – Euros, worlds, Olympic Games,” German news agency dpa reported the 31-year-old told Eurosport.

“Over the past weeks and months I reached the decision that it was my last international competition.”

Dauser said he would complete the domestic season and then decide whether to continue for another year or two in Germany. – BERNAMA-dpa
