KUCHING: An elderly woman sustained minor injuries after her vehicle rammed into a petrol station wall along Jalan Canna on Sunday morning.

Firefighters from Tabuan Jaya and Batu Lintang stations were dispatched to the scene, about 3km away, after receiving an emergency call at 6.33 am.

Upon arrival, the team confirmed that a Perodua Myvi had crashed into the wall, with the front part of the vehicle badly damaged.

No extrication was necessary as the 57-year-old driver had already been rescued by members of the public.

The team only administered treatment on-site before taking her to the hospital for further medical attention.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team concluded the operation at 6.58 am.
