Mobile service to aid elderly with SCHB application

SIBU: Sibu Member of Parliament Oscar Ling Chai Yew’s Service Center will host the “Sibu DAP Mobile Service” Thursday (Dec 5), providing online application assistance for the “Senior Citizen Health Benefit” (SCHB).

Ling’s assistant, Irene Wong, who is also the event coordinator, said today (Dec 3) that this welfare initiative aims to assist elderly citizens unfamiliar with the application process for this government benefit.

She explained that the service will help eligible individuals complete their online applications, enabling them to access government-provided health benefits.

The event will be held at Cafe Selalo, Paradom in Tanjung Kunyit.

“Residents aged 60 and above who live nearby are encouraged to attend between 9 am and 12 noon. During this time, attendees can visit to complete their applications.

“As we are unable to bring a photocopy machine to the site, all applicants must bring photocopies of their identification cards to facilitate the process,” she advised.

Wong emphasised that the SCHB is open exclusively to Sarawakians aged 60 and above. Applicants must present identification cards displaying the letter “K”.

She also reminded the public that applicants’ household income must not exceed RM7,000 per month, as those earning above this amount do not qualify for the health benefit.
