Hospital celebrates Christmas with young cancer patients

MIRI: The new cafeteria in Miri Hospital’s recently completed block came alive with Christmas cheer during a special celebration for young cancer patients and their families.

The event, adorned with vibrant decorations and filled with the melodies of festive carols, brought warmth and joy to all who attended.

Organising Chairperson Jennifer Phang, Miri Hospital Director Dr Jack Wong, and some 30 medical staff were joined by distinguished guests, including Lions Club MD308-A2 District Governor Annie Ho, Council Chair Mary Law, First Vice District Governor Datuk Winnie, Region 4 Chair Johnson Wee, Zone 10 Chair Datuk Nguang Hing Teck, as well as presidents and representatives of MD308-A2 Region 4 Zone 10 Lions Clubs.

The celebration welcomed about 40 young patients undergoing cancer treatment along with their families.

Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch sponsored by AVOCBAR and a delightful dessert table provided by The Twin Brothers Patisserie.

Adding to the excitement, Santa Claus distributed Christmas gifts to the children, who also had the chance to interact with the Lions mascot, bringing smiles to their faces.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Christmas carol session, leaving attendees with joyful hearts and cherished memories.
