KUCHING: The Digital Transformation Seminar for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has revolutionised digital adoption among Sarawak’s SMEs by providing seamless, scalable, and cost-efficient business solutions.
Co-hosted by the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) and Kintone Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd, the seminar, held on Tuesday, highlighted both companies’ commitment to equipping businesses with the tools needed to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.
Speaking at the seminar, SDEC chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi emphasised the critical role of digitalisation in enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of Sarawak’s SMEs.
He also noted that this strategic partnership serves as a catalyst for accelerating the region’s digital economy.
In a statement, SDEC said that with Kintone’s no-code platform, SMEs can now opt only for the modules they require, ensuring optimised costs while maintaining flexibility as their businesses grow.
“This modular approach enables enterprises to streamline operations, improve customer engagement, and boost overall productivity without the need for specialised IT expertise,” it said.
It also noted that the seminar featured interactive demonstrations, showcasing how Kintone’s adaptable digital tools can automate workflows, enhance collaboration, and drive business efficiency.
Industry leaders and government representatives, including SDEC chief executive officer Datuk Sudarnoto Osman, Kintone Southeast Asia Managing Director Tsubasa Nakazawa, and Embassy of Japan in Malaysia First Secretary Shingo Hiraki, attended the seminar alongside 150 participants from various key sectors.
“This strategic collaboration between SDEC and Kintone marks a pivotal step in Sarawak’s digital transformation journey, helping SMEs stay competitive, resilient, and future-ready,” it said.
