BINTULU: Tanjong Batu assemblyman, Johnny Pang Leong Ming, held a meeting today with village chiefs and representatives from residential areas within the constituency to discuss various community initiatives.
Among the key topics discussed were visitation programmes in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, progress on rural transformation projects and issues concerning residents’ well-being.
In conjunction with the start of Ramadan tomorrow, Johnny Pang also distributed dates as a contribution to Muslim residents in Kampung Assyakirin (Phases 1 to 3), Kampung Jabai, and several other residential areas within the Tanjong Batu constituency.
The contributions were delivered through village chiefs and representatives of their respective Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK).
According to him, this initiative is an annual tradition of his Service Centre in collaboration with the Bintulu Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP).
In addition to dates, they also distributed imsak and iftar timetables to help the Muslim community with their Ramadan preparations.
He also extended his well wishes to all Muslims observing the fast and hoped that this small contribution would brighten their preparations for Ramadan.
