SIBU: The Datuk Lau Hoi Chew Madani Community in collaboration with Sibu Hospital Blood Bank and Star Mega Mall held a blood donation drive at Star Mega Mall here on Sunday.
According to the Madani community chairman Penghulu Wong Hua, the campaign with the slogan ‘A drop of blood can save a life’ aimed at ensuring sufficient blood supply at the blood bank.
He also said that the blood donation drive is an annual event that is organised three times a year.
“I thank Star Mega Mall management and Sibu Hospital for their continuous support and assistance. I also thank the people for coming forward to make this annual event a success,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
A total of 49 people registered for the blood donation. However, after screening, only 43 successfully donated their blood.
The programme was officiated by Madani community’s advisor and United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan branch chairman Councillor Kevin Lau.
