KUCHING: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, received a courtesy visit from a Sarawak Foundation delegation at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here Monday (March 3).
Among those present during the courtesy visit were the State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, who also serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Sarawak Foundation Board of Trustees; the Senior Private Secretary to the Governor Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie; Sarawak Foundation Director Datuk Mersal Abang Rosli; Deputy Director (Operations) Mohamad Adzlie Ibrahim, and Deputy Director (Education) Watson Chunggat Leornard Doo.
The purpose of the visit was to extend an invitation to Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, to an Iftar dinner organised by the Sarawak Foundation, which will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on March 22.
The annual Sarawak Foundation Iftar serves as a significant event to bring together Sarawakian staff and students residing in Peninsular Malaysia during this holy month, while offering an opportunity to break fast with Sarawakian leaders.
In addition to that, the event will showcase a symbolic launch of the Special Financial Assistance (BKK) introduced by the Sarawak government, which includes a cash allowance of RM1,200 for Sarawakian students enrolled in higher education institutions (IPT).
