KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg took part in a breaking of fast event during a ‘leaders with the community gathering’ at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) complex on Monday evening (Mar 10).
The event, attended by more than 500 guests, began with the breaking of fast together, followed by the Maghrib prayer, after which the guests enjoyed a dinner banquet.
Meanwhile, the Isha and Tarawih prayers were led by Sarawak Grand Imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal.
In addition to strengthening the relationship between leaders and the community, the event also served as a platform to reinforce unity, with the presence of both Muslim and non-Muslim leaders in commemorating the month of Ramadan.
Also present were Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar, and State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
