PUSA: A total of RM11 million has been allocated to drive the development of the nipah (apong) industry in Kampung Tambak here.

Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor said nipah-based products have significant potential for growth, providing an opportunity for local residents, particularly in Kampung Tambak, to increase their income.

He assured that a factory will also be built to facilitate the processing of nipah-based products, allowing for better production and expansion into international markets.

“Once completed, the factory is expected to stimulate socio-economic activities in the area, ensuring that various initiatives and programmes can be carried out efficiently,” he said.

He said this during a breaking of fast event and the distribution of aid to 40 ‘asnaf’ (underprivileged individuals) in Kampung Tambak on Monday (Mar 24).

On infrastructure development, he said funds have been allocated for the construction of a new mosque, which is proposed to be built at the new resettlement scheme in Kampung Tambak.

During the event, Razaili distributed ‘duit raya’ to the residents of Kampung Tambak after the Tarawih prayers, as well as to the 40 ‘asnaf’ before the breaking of fast at Masjid Kampung Tambak.
