KUCHING: The Tupong Women Wing has demonstrated the vital role of women in driving community development and regional progress through its lively Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri celebration at Dewan Hikmah here on Saturday.
Tupong assemblyman, Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, said the event not only served as a platform to celebrate Syawal but also showcased the women’s leadership and initiative in implementing high-impact programmes that strengthen community unity.
“A ceremony as such is not just a celebration, but a symbol of the strength of women in leading and mobilising the community.
“They are not only the driving force behind community programme, but also the heart of the harmony and progress of an area,” he said in his speech.
Fazzrudin, who is also the Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, added that the women play an important role in uniting the community and acting as a key voice in communicating the needs of the people at the grassroots level.
The celebration featured cultural performances, traditional Aidilfitri dishes, and the presentation of donations to the needy – all carried out in a well-organised and systematic manner, which shows the efficiency of women in managing large-scale events.
The event also reflected the continuous efforts of the Women Wing in connecting with the people and building strong cooperation between local leaders and the community, in line with the ongoing progress of the Tupong area.
