KUCHING: Agricultural road projects in Kampung Bumbok and Kampung Tematu are progressing steadily under efforts to enhance rural infrastructure and support local agricultural activities.

Funded through the Agriculture Facilitation Fund (AFF) for the Batu Kitang constituency, the project aims to ease the movement of agricultural produce while improving accessibility for villagers.

Kampung Tematu received an allocation of RM100,000, while RM50,000 was channelled to Kampung Bumbok.

The Department of Agriculture Kuching and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) are spearheading the implementation, with both agencies working closely to ensure timely progress.

Batu Kitang assemblyman, Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, expressed appreciation for the efforts of all parties involved, highlighting the broader benefits of the project.

“This initiative not only benefits farmers but also accelerates holistic rural development.

“My sincere thanks to the Department of Agriculture and DID for their dedication,” he said.

The initiative is part of the state government’s ongoing commitment to narrowing the urban-rural development gap across Sarawak.
