BAU: Local teams lit up the courts with thrilling doubles action at the Bau Sports Carnival badminton competition, held from May 16 to 17.
In the men’s doubles division, BFF proved their dominance with a solid performance to claim first place, overcoming tough resistance from O’Neil, who finished as runners-up.
Badi and 77 secured third and fourth place respectively after strong runs in the bracket.
The women’s doubles contest saw Borneo emerge victorious with sharp coordination and consistent play.


WFC BC settled for second place, while Princess Nat clinched third in a closely contested bronze match, edging past SCBC, who finished fourth.
The event was marked by high-energy rallies and commendable sportsmanship, highlighting the depth of talent in Bau’s badminton community.
With enthusiasm running high, organisers expressed optimism about the sport’s continued growth in the region in a statement issued after the event.
The competition was also held in conjunction with the 205th Bau District and Tasik Biru Festival 2025, adding to the festive atmosphere.
