KUCHING: The X-Tive Urban Nature Run Programme at Padang Merdeka drew a large crowd today (May 18).
The programme was jointly organised by Rev Run and Kuching Happy Runners in collaboration with the Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), as well as the support of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED).
Aimed at promoting fitness and enlivening the city with inclusive outdoor activities, the 5-kilometre run attracted participants of all ages and backgrounds.
The run was officially flagged off at 6.30 am by Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (Youth and Entrepreneur Development) Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu alongside Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, DBKU and Islamic Affairs) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
Prior to the flag-off, participants joined energetic aerobics and Zumba sessions as warm-up activities.
Also present was DBKU mayor Datuk Hilmy Othman.
